How Fast Do Monstera Bulbasaurs Grow?

People ask me how fast a Monstera Bulbasaur grows like there is one number. There is not. It is a variegated Monstera deliciosa, same climber as a Swiss cheese plant, just with that camo of dark green, mint, and cream. In a bright house down here I usually see a new leaf about every four to six weeks in spring and summer. Winter slows it. Heavy cream coverage slows it more. Pale tissue does less of the work, so do not expect green-deliciosa speed.

A little starter is not throwing splits next month. Juvenile leaves stay mostly solid. I hate seeing folks buy a baby and get mad it looks plain. Give it a moss pole so the aerial roots can grab. Once it climbs, leaves size up and the edge splits and inner holes show up. Fenestration is locked in before the leaf unfurls. A finished leaf will not punch new holes later.

Bright indirect light pushes both speed and pattern. East window, or a few feet off south or west glass. Midday sun burns the pale patches. A dark corner stretches the internodes and the next leaf comes out small and greener. Humidity down here already helps. Keep it around 65 to 85 F and out of cold AC.

Chunky bark and perlite mix. Water when the top inch or two is dry. Soggy roots stall everything. Yellow older leaves plus tiny new ones means it is hungry. A diluted balanced feed in the warm months fixes that. Do not dump full strength. Wipe leaves, keep air moving, and a quick neem wipe beats fighting thrips on a chewed up plant.

We grow these in Lealman and ship nationwide. Local pickup around St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, and Tampa when one is listed.

How fast does a Monstera Bulbasaur grow indoors? About one new leaf every four to six weeks in the growing season if light and a pole are right. Slower if the variegation is heavy or the room is dim.

When will it fenestrate? After it matures and climbs in strong light. Not on a brand new cutting.

Where can I get one near St. Petersburg, Florida? Monstera Houseplants in Lealman. We ship across the US too.
