Giant Sequoia Redwood Bonsai on Archway – Ready-to-Root Living Sculpture (81)

Giant Sequoia Redwood Bonsai on Archway – Ready-to-Root Living Sculpture (81)

Plant Bio

Native to California’s Sierra Nevada, the Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) is the world’s largest tree by volume. This young specimen is pre-trained on a sturdy archway. Place the entire structure on soil in any pot—roots will grow downward, establishing a unique living bonsai archway sculpture that captures the majesty of these ancient giants in miniature.

Light Instructions

Give full sun for dense, healthy growth and best color. Outdoors in bright light is ideal. It tolerates light partial shade but may grow thinner. In very hot climates, provide light afternoon shade during peak summer heat to prevent stress while still receiving strong morning and midday sun.

Is It Pet Safe?

Yes. Giant Sequoia is considered non-toxic to cats, dogs, and other common pets. It is not listed as toxic by the ASPCA. Large amounts of any plant material can cause mild stomach upset, but this species poses no known poisoning risk to pets.

Watering Instructions

Keep soil consistently moist but never soggy. Giant Sequoias dislike drying out completely. Water thoroughly when the top inch feels slightly dry, allowing excess to drain. Mist the foliage regularly to boost humidity, especially in dry indoor air or hot weather

Specific Plant Care for This Species

Use a well-draining, slightly acidic mix (similar to bonsai or conifer soil). Fertilize lightly during the growing season with a balanced bonsai fertilizer. Prefers outdoor conditions with good airflow. Protect from hard freezes when young. Prune lightly to maintain the archway shape. Shallow-rooted—avoid overly deep pots.
