Small Monstera Albo in a 3 Inch Pot | Live Variegated Starter Plant
Small Monstera Albo in a 3 Inch Pot | Live Variegated Starter Plant
This is a small Monstera Albo in a 3 inch pot. I grow these as starter plants for people who want real white sectoral variegation and would rather raise the plant than buy a finished moss pole specimen.
Botanically it is Monstera deliciosa ‘Albo Variegata’, the compact Borsigiana form most indoor collectors keep. I hand-select each one in our Lealman / St. Petersburg greenhouse. After 13 years growing Monsteras in Florida humidity, I only ship plants with firm roots, clean foliage, and visible white on at least one leaf.
Albo variegation is chimeric, so no two leaves match. You may get a thin white splash or a bold half-moon. That instability is why collectors chase it, and it is different from the even speckles on our Thai Constellation plants. White tissue has no chlorophyll, so this plant needs bright indirect light. Low light fades the pattern and slows growth. Harsh midday sun burns the white.
A 3 inch pot is the right first home. Small pots dry faster, which helps on a plant that rots if the mix stays wet. Water when the top inch feels dry. Use a chunky aroid mix with bark and perlite. Do not jump it into a huge pot. When the roots fill this one, move up one size and add a moss pole if you want bigger, more split leaves.
This Monstera is not pet safe. Leaves and stems have calcium oxalate crystals. Keep it away from cats, dogs, and kids who chew plants.
We ship nationwide from Pinellas County and can arrange local pickup around St. Petersburg, Largo, Clearwater, and Tampa. Send a photo anytime and I will walk you through it.
What is a small Monstera Albo in a 3 inch pot?
A young Monstera deliciosa ‘Albo Variegata’ in a 3 inch nursery pot. It is a starter plant with real white chimeric variegation, not a mature moss-pole specimen.
Is Monstera Albo the same as Thai Constellation?
No. Albo shows bold, unpredictable white sectors and can shift from leaf to leaf. Thai Constellation is tissue-cultured and keeps a more even cream speckle. We sell both. This listing is the Albo starter.
How do I care for a baby Monstera Albo in a small pot?
Bright indirect light, chunky mix, and water only when the top inch is dry. Three inch pots dry faster than big pots, so check them more often. Skip oversized containers.
Is Monstera Albo safe for cats and dogs?
No. Like other Monsteras, it can irritate the mouth and stomach if chewed. Keep it out of reach.
Do you sell Monstera Albo in St. Petersburg, Florida?
Yes. Plants are grown and packed in the Lealman / St. Petersburg area. We ship across the U.S. and serve Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area within about 30 miles, including Largo, Clearwater, Seminole, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, St. Pete Beach, and Tampa.
When should I repot this 3 inch Albo?
When roots circle the pot or water runs straight through. Step up about 2 inches, usually into a 4 or 5 inch pot. Spring is best.
Will the white variegation stay the same?
Not leaf for leaf. Albo is unstable by nature. Strong light and a healthy green-to-white balance on new growth give you the best odds of keeping the pattern.
