Small Monstera Bulbasaur Plant in a 3 Inch Pot
Small Monstera Bulbasaur Plant in a 3 Inch Pot
This is a small, fully rooted Monstera deliciosa ‘Bulbasaur’ in a 3 inch pot, hand-selected here in St. Petersburg after more than 13 years growing tropicals in Florida. Collectors look for this one because the variegation does not look like Albo or Thai Constellation. Leaves show a mottled, camouflage mix of deep green, mint, and cream that changes from leaf to leaf. Young plants in this size usually have whole leaves. Give it a moss pole and bright indirect light and later leaves can split the way a classic Monstera does.
We cherry-pick plants with healthy roots and clean foliage, the same way we do for our other small 3 inch starters and our larger Deliciosa and Thai Constellation pieces. This size fits desks, shelves, and apartments around St. Pete, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, Seminole, and the rest of Pinellas and Tampa Bay. We also ship nationwide.
Light and water. Bright indirect light keeps the mint and cream from fading and helps the plant stay compact. An east window or a few feet back from a brighter one works in most Tampa Bay homes. Direct midday sun can burn the paler tissue. Water when the top of the mix feels dry. In a 3 inch pot that happens faster than in our larger self-watering setups, so check often, especially in Florida summer humidity. Use a chunky aroid mix with bark and perlite so roots never sit wet.
Support and growth. This is a climbing aroid. A small moss pole or stake now trains the vine and leads to bigger, more divided leaves later. Aerial roots are normal. Tuck them in or let them grab the pole.
Pets. Like other Monsteras, this plant has calcium oxalate crystals. It is not safe if chewed. Keep it out of reach of cats, dogs, and kids. Most of our other houseplants are a better fit for pet homes.
FAQ
What is a Monstera Bulbasaur?
A collector-named variegated form of Monstera deliciosa with irregular mint-cream and green mottling instead of large white blocks. The nickname comes from the color pattern. It is not a separate species.
Is a small Monstera Bulbasaur in a 3 inch pot hard to care for?
No. Care matches our other Deliciosa plants: bright indirect light, chunky mix, water when the top dries, and something to climb. The small pot just needs more frequent checks.
Where can I buy a rare variegated Monstera near St. Petersburg, Florida?
We grow and pack from Pinellas County and ship across the U.S. Local pickup and delivery options cover St. Pete and cities within about 30 miles, including Clearwater, Largo, Tampa, and surrounding Pinellas towns.
Will the variegation stay on a baby plant?
Patterns vary leaf to leaf. Good light and steady care help new leaves keep the mint and cream mix. We select plants that already show the characteristic mottling.
Need help after it arrives? Send a photo the way our other customers do. We diagnose yellow leaves, droop, and watering issues from real Florida nursery experience.
