Small Monstera Yellow Marilyn in a 3in Pot | St. Pete Grown

Small Monstera Yellow Marilyn in a 3in Pot | St. Pete Grown

This is a small Monstera Yellow Marilyn in a 3in pot. I grow these starter plants in the Lealman and St. Petersburg area of Pinellas County for people who want yellow aurea variegation, not white Albo sectors and not the cream speckles on our Thai Constellation. New leaves often open lime or pale yellow, then deepen and later soften toward cream. That shift is why folks call it Polaroid variegation. It is not the same plant as our Golden Sands, which keeps gold, chartreuse, and creamy yellow marbling without that color change. Patterns are chimeric, so no two leaves match. After 13 years propagating Monsteras in Florida humidity, I only ship plants with firm roots and clean foliage. No blemishes go out. A 3 inch pot is the right first home because small pots dry faster and yellow tissue rots if the mix stays wet. Give it bright indirect light. Midday sun burns the pale parts. Water when the top 1 to 2 inches feel dry and let it drain. Use a chunky aroid mix with bark and perlite. Keep it between 65 and 85 F. Add a moss pole later if you want larger splits. This size fits a desk or windowsill in St. Pete, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, Largo, Clearwater, Seminole, St. Pete Beach, or a Tampa Bay apartment. We ship nationwide and offer local pickup across Pinellas County and cities within about 30 miles. Not pet safe. Monsteras have calcium oxalate crystals. Keep it away from cats, dogs, and kids who chew plants. Send a photo if it stalls. I will walk you through it.

Plant Bio
Monstera Yellow Marilyn is a yellow aurea form of the climbing Swiss cheese plant, Monstera deliciosa. Young plants stay compact in a 3in pot. Once it climbs a moss pole, leaves get larger and start to split the same way our other Monsteras do.

Light Instructions
Bright indirect light holds the yellow. An east window or a few feet back from a south or west window works. Direct midday sun scorches the pale tissue. In darker Tampa Bay rooms, add a grow light in winter.

Watering Instructions
Water when the top 1 to 2 inches feel dry. Let the pot drain. Do not leave it sitting in a saucer. Florida summers dry the mix faster. In winter, wait longer.

Specific Plant Care
Use a chunky aroid mix with bark and perlite. Keep it between 65 and 85 F. Humidity around 50 to 60 percent is enough. Florida air already helps. Feed lightly in spring and summer. Send a photo if the yellow fades or growth stalls. I will walk you through it.

FAQ (paste these; they help Google and ChatGPT-style answers)

What is a small Monstera Yellow Marilyn in a 3in pot?
A young yellow aurea Monstera deliciosa starter in a 3 inch nursery pot. It is not a finished moss pole plant. Leaves often open lime or pale yellow, then shift toward stronger yellow and later cream.

Is Yellow Marilyn the same as Golden Sands, Albo, or Thai Constellation?
No. Yellow Marilyn is the Polaroid yellow look. Golden Sands holds gold, chartreuse, and creamy yellow marbling. Albo shows white sectors. Thai Constellation shows cream speckles. We sell those separately.

How do I care for a baby Yellow Marilyn Monstera?
Bright indirect light, chunky aroid mix, and water only when the top 1 to 2 inches are dry. Three inch pots dry faster than big pots, so check them more often. Do not jump it into a huge pot.

Is Monstera Yellow Marilyn pet safe?
No. Like our other Monsteras, it has calcium oxalate crystals and is not safe if eaten by cats, dogs, or kids.

Where can I buy a small Yellow Marilyn Monstera near St. Petersburg, Florida?
Monstera Houseplants grows and packs these in the Lealman and St. Petersburg area of Pinellas County. Local pickup covers St. Pete, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, Largo, Clearwater, Seminole, St. Pete Beach, Tampa, and other cities within about 30 miles. We also ship nationwide.

Does Monstera Houseplants ship Yellow Marilyn across the U.S.?
Yes. Plants ship from Pinellas County. Local Tampa Bay delivery and pickup are common when listed.

Will the yellow variegation stay the same on every leaf?
Not leaf for leaf. This is chimeric aurea variegation. Strong bright indirect light and a healthy green-to-yellow balance on new growth give you the best odds of keeping the color.

When should I repot this 3in Yellow Marilyn?
When roots circle the pot or water runs straight through. Step up about 2 inches, usually into a 4 or 5 inch pot. Spring is best.
