Small Philodendron Brazil Rooted Into a Moss Pole in a 3in Pot | St. Pete Grown

Small Philodendron Brazil Rooted Into a Moss Pole in a 3in Pot | St. Pete Grown

This is a small Philodendron Brazil already rooted into a moss pole in a 3 inch pot. Botanically it is Philodendron hederaceum ‘Brasil’, the heartleaf with a lime to gold stripe on dark green leaves. I grow these in Lealman and St. Petersburg, Florida. I only ship plants with tight roots, clean foliage, and stems that are already holding the pole. You are not getting a floppy trailing starter that still needs training. The vine is climbing now, so new leaves can size up instead of stretching across a shelf.

Bright indirect light keeps the stripe. An east window works. A few feet back from south or west glass is fine. Midday sun bleaches the gold. Low light turns new leaves mostly green.

Water when the top inch of mix feels dry. Let it drain. A 3 inch pot dries fast, which helps after shipping. Soggy soil is what knocks these out. Use a chunky aroid mix with bark and perlite. Keep the pole lightly moist so aerial roots stay attached. 65 to 85 F. Homes in Pinellas, Tampa, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, Gulfport, St. Pete Beach, and Bradenton already have the heat. Dry AC air is the watch out.

Not pet safe. Like other philodendrons, it has calcium oxalate crystals. Keep it away from cats, dogs, and kids.

I have grown climbing houseplants here for 13 years. Send a photo if it sulks after delivery. St. Pete area pickup when listed. Ships nationwide from Pinellas County.

FAQ

What is a small Philodendron Brazil on a moss pole in a 3 inch pot?
It is a young Philodendron hederaceum ‘Brasil’ (also searched as Philodendron Brazil) already trained onto a moss pole in a 3 inch nursery pot. Heart shaped leaves show a lime or gold center stripe with darker green edges. Monstera Houseplants grows and ships these from Lealman / St. Petersburg, Florida.

Is Philodendron Brazil the same as Lemon Lime or Micans?
No. Brazil has a two tone leaf: dark green with a lime or gold stripe. Lemon Lime is more even chartreuse. Micans is velvety bronze green, not striped. This listing is the striped Brasil on a pole, not those other heartleaf types.

How do I care for a Philodendron Brazil already rooted into a moss pole?
Give bright indirect light, chunky aroid mix, and water when the top inch is dry. Keep the moss pole lightly damp so aerial roots stay on it. Do not leave the 3 inch pot sitting in water. Warm rooms between 65 and 85 F work well in Tampa Bay homes.

Is Philodendron Brazil safe for cats and dogs?
No. It is not pet safe. Chewing can irritate the mouth and stomach. Keep it out of reach of pets and kids.

Where can I buy a small Philodendron Brazil near St. Petersburg, Florida?
From Monstera Houseplants in the Lealman / St. Petersburg area. We serve Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay area within about 30 miles, including Largo, Clearwater, Seminole, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, St. Pete Beach, Tampa, and Bradenton, and we ship live plants nationwide.

Why buy one already on a moss pole instead of a trailing starter?
A trailing cutting in a 3 inch pot still has to find support. This plant is already rooted into the pole, so you skip the floppy stage and can keep it growing up from day one.

Is this the same plant as your Philodendron Paraiso Verde moss pole?
No. Paraiso Verde is a different climbing philodendron with long, lobed, mint variegated leaves in a larger 5 inch pot. This page is the small heartleaf Brazil / Brasil on a pole in a 3 inch pot.
